Nevada Broadcasters Foundation

Our Mission:

The Nevada Broadcasters Foundation (NVBF) and the Tony & Linda Bonnici Scholarship Fund finds the very best broadcasting and journalism students in Nevada and makes it easier for them to pursue their dreams. The Foundation awards full tuition scholarships to the next generation of Nevada's Broadcasters. This scholarship is unique in that it is a scholarship by broadcasters for broadcasters. In the past five years, 55 scholarships have been awarded to talented and dedicated students of broadcasting attending Nevada's colleges or universities. These scholarships encourage students with great passion to enter broadcasting as a career and to seek the highest quality of education in the field.

A message from the Executive Director:

Eric BonniciHaving served on the board of the Foundation since its inception, I can’t express the gratitude and fulfillment one feels when seeing the look on the students faces when they hear those words “you’ve been awarded a scholarship”.  I was recently quoted on the importance of making a difference in this world and the rewards knowing that we are literally changing peoples lives.  It is because of all the support given to us not only by our peers in broadcasting, but by friends and relatives thereof, that we can continue to award scholarships to talented and dedicated students of of broadcasting and communications.

If you have supported our efforts in the past, I thank you.  If you are inclined, please reach out to me for more information or how you can assist in our efforts.  No support is ever to menial.

Again, I thank you for your assistance in “Paving the Way for Future Broadcasters”.

Happy to serve,
Eric Bonnici

A message from the President:

In this our fourth year of awarding scholarships to students attending a Nevada college or university, I am very humbled.  We have awarded 34 to date, with our very first recipient—Alexandra Cannito, graduating this year from UNR after four years of fully paid tuition!  She is a shining example of what the purpose for all of this is.  She’s currently working full time as an Associate Producer at KRNV in Reno while attending school and we couldn’t be more proud.  That’s just one example of 34 that gives me great assurance that the Broadcasting industry is in good hands.  These “kids” as I call them are amazing…talented, energetic and so anxious to get in “the business”.  They inspire us all and are excellent examples of what our future will look like.  It just makes you smile   : )
